Module 4: Practical Exercise

36

This exercise is a group activity aimed at developing a comprehensive plan for building relationships in a community. Divide participants into groups and provide them with a project scenario where they act as community leaders. They shall use the training material provided to answer questions and discuss strategies related to community engagement, relationship-building activities, co-creation, user-centered design, involving community members in service design, collecting feedback, and monitoring and improving services based on community input. Note to users: this exercise has been designed to be implemented with a facilitator.

Step 1
Create two or more groups, with each group ideally having 3 to 5 participants, depending on the number of participants in the activity.
Step 2

Explain the project to all groups. Project Imagine you are a community leader tasked with preparing a project to build relationships in your community.

Use the training material provided to answer the following questions and develop a plan.

‍

  • What is the first step in community engagement?
  • List three relationship-building activities mentioned in the training material.
  • Explain the concept of co-creation and its importance in community engagement.
  • How does user-centered design promote social inclusion in service design?
  • Describe two activities or methods that can be used to involve community members in the service design process.
  • How can feedback from the community be collected and incorporated into the service design process?
  • Provide two practical guidelines for continuously monitoring and improving the service based on community feedback.
Step 3
Each group has 20 minutes to brainstorm and find answers to the project questions. Afterward, all groups discuss their answers together for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Assign the task to all groups to develop a comprehensive plan for building relationships in their community based on the concepts and strategies discussed during the brainstorming session.
